Graphic Design Facility - the freelance work of Dan Cadell

Working in collaboration with the illustrator James summers a 148 page program was illustrated and designed in a very short lead-time of 2 weeks.

The Secret Garden Party (SGP) is one of the UK's most popular festivals with a capacity of 15,000. The promotion team at SGP have used James as an illustrator the previous year to develop some backgrounds to the program which then then overlaid by a graphic designer. This I was asked to get involved based on the output of my work and were very happy with the graphic visuals that I developed. My role was to work with James to bring together the complexities of hundreds of pages of copy (that changed frequently) into a coherent organized layout and then to bring to life the overall design by developing a flexible grid system and layout, a typographic system and finally a visual aesthetic which ties together all of the different themes of the performance areas on site. The final challenge was also incorporate another illustrators work which has been used since the beginning of the festival.
